Ministries ...

Service

Our services are contemporary and are tailored to the interests of our ever changing society. We maintain a positive and friendly environment where all are welcome. All services are open to the public.

Worship

Our worship ministry uses a blended approach which includes an array of musical styles from traditional to contemporary songs. We use guitars, drums, piano, occasionally trumpet & flute, and we welcome new instruments. The worship team is comprised of people gifted in music who lead the church family into a Christian worship experience. Their primary focus is leadership as they approach the throne of God in praise. Our worship ministry also includes people who share their musical gifts through special music (singing or playing an instrument) to edify and encourage our church family and guests.

Prayer

The Prayer Team is a dedicated group of people who serve the church and its pastor through a commitment of regular prayer, interceding on behalf of our congregation and community for their needs. Pastoral prayer partners regularly lift up the personal, spiritual and family needs of our pastor in several ways: on their own at home, in small groups at prayer meetings during the week, and in our prayer room throughout the Sunday morning worship services. They pray for believers to experience true worship and to know, accept and obey the Word of God. They also pray for unity in the church, for souls to be won to Christ, and for joy in the hearts and lives of believers. Send your request to the prayer chain on our prayer page.

Fellowship

We have monthly Fellowship Sunday Meals (September to November and January to June), on the last Sunday of each month, food is provided, feel free to bring a friend. We offer coffee, tea and juice in the foyer after each service. Don't forget our annual Christmas Banquet (tickets available for the whole community)!

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care team is a group of individuals who reach out to those in need within the church and the community. They provide meals and notes of encouragement to recently bereaved families and those recovering from illness or surgery, They also provide lunch to our church family once a month after our Family Sunday services. Financial support is provided anonymously to struggling families through our benevolent fund assistance program, and this team also organizes periodic fundraising events for the community and for projects that benefit our congregation.

Friendly Fifties

For men and women 50 years or older, this group meets each month for lunch in a local home to enjoy warm fellowship and friendly discussion together. Last year, our Friendly Fifties group prepared gift boxes of essential hygiene items to send to seniors abroad through the Canadian Aid for Chernobyl, a charitable organization aimed at easing the suffering of those affected by the 1986 nuclear power plant disaster in Chernobyl.

Care Groups

Everyone in the church family is encouraged to be part of a Care Group, to be cared for and to care for others. The mandate of a Care Group is to work together to grasp the volume of Christ’s love. As a group they have a three part purpose; to grow together (mature), to learn valuable skills for serving God (equip) and to spread the love of Jesus in their community (share) as they are filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Each Care Group has a Leader who is a care giver and coordinator for the group; this is someone with leadership skills, a passion for God and compassion for people. They receive training on leading groups and being effective care givers. Care Groups also have Instructors (people who help teach and guide the group through the study of biblical material) and Hosts (people with the gift of hospitality who offer the use of their home for the weekly gathering). The Prime Directive of this ministry is to ‘Care’. Go to our 'Care Groups' page by clicking here...

Men’s Ministry

Our men enjoy good friendships and times of fellowship with the occasional heart clogging breakfast, We get together to watch the Grey Cup game, the Superbowl, and the Daytona 500, We also enjoy an annual outing for white water rafting and a spring cruise down the Kemptville Creek.

Youth

Our Youth Ministry for teens plays a vital role in both the church and the community. Youth meet every other Friday night for a relaxed time of fun, fellowship and discussions. Special outings to conference events and youth concerts are also planned periodically. The date of the next Youth Night can be found on our website at www.ngccfm.ca.

Children’s Ministry (Kids Worship & Nursery Care)

Our Children’s Ministry is for newborns up to children age 12. Children remain in the sanctuary with their families for the first part of our worship service, and then the kids have an age-specific interactive service in the lower auditorium. All of our teachers have demonstrated a genuine love for children, meet regularly for planning and have a Police Record Check on file at the church.

Property & Buildings Care Team

Our group of helpers on the Property and Buildings Team maintains the church facilities in very tangible ways, looking after the physical maintenance and upgrades to the property and church. From washing windows and changing light bulbs to carpentry, plumbing and beyond, these folks serve hands-on through their skills, offering practical care to the buildings we use.
